Laters MLB Rumors(MUST READ!)

There are many speculations out there on which top players are switching caps before the trading deadline, but few of these are legit. While in other places you get charged for insiders content, I am willing to provide here what I know for free, bookmark this and check back often since I will be adding new ones daily.

Jason Schmidt San Francisco Giants --> Chicago Whitesox
Despite their octane offense, the Whitesox need more pitching, and are said to be pursuing Giants right-hander Jason Schmidt.
"Typical Kenny Williams," a club executive who had heard this talk . "Laying in the weeds, staying quiet and trying to make the biggest deal of them all." I think they will end up trading Brandon McCarthy along with center fielder Brian Anderson for Schmidt. But before making this deal, which I believe will happen soon, they need to get a new center fielder first.

Greg Maddux Chicago Cubs --> Milwaukee Brewers
The Brewers have asked about the availability of Greg Maddux. whose brother is the Brewers' pitching coach. Ned Yost, the Brewers' manager, was also a coach with the Braves for a time when Maddux played in Atlanta.
Maddux, in the final season of his contract, doesn't have a no-trade clause in his current contract, but it's believed the Cubs won't trade him unless he agrees to the deal. The Dodgers are among the other teams who are thought to be interested in acquiring the 40-year-old Maddux.
